Production Operations Supervisor Night Shift

Full Time MGMT-Direct Reports Lakeville, NY, Lakeville, NY, US

Salary Range: $70,000.00 To $90,000.00 Annually

Summary

The Production Operations Supervisor will manage production operations in the disciplines of planning, organizing, directing, and running optimum day-to-day operations in the facility. This position will be responsible for the safe and efficient operations of the facility in a manner that is consistent with company processes and procedures in an FDA regulated industry. This includes managing the workforce, overseeing the training program, analyzing, and utilizing available reports, metrics, and software, and providing workers with the information and materials needed to safely produce the highest quality product possible.

Schedule

This position is on a rotating 2-week, 2-2-3 schedule. 36 hours one week, 48 hours the next, three-day weekend every other weekend!

The hours for this position are 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM.

This position requires the flexibility to work various shifts, including Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and overtime, as needed. Weekend shifts may be mandated based on business needs.

  • Provide leadership, manage, direct, and coordinate overall activities of the plant, and employees to ensure compliance and alignment with leadership.
  • Develop and execute standard operating procedures, guidelines, and policy to drive day-to-day operations while holding employees accountable to these procedures.
  • Recommend and implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase quality, efficiency, and safety.
  • Establish jobs or tasks and define them complete with instructions, technical specifications, and environmental compliance policies as applicable.
  • Perform floor walks while observing safety concerns, drive safety rules, compliance, and overall operational performance values.
  • Hold safety training meetings and perform safety/incident related reporting and documentation.
  • Partner with the safety and quality department to assist in environmental projects and testing as needed.
  • Become an expert of all Ingredients Plus equipment operation including dry granular conveyance equipment, rail car unloading systems of dry granular.
  • Manage the liquid manufacturing process and supporting infrastructure such as boilers, CIP, pumps, piping, silos, and batching technology.
  • Proper handling of food grade products & chemicals
  • Handle day to day quality functions including documentation verification, compliance, reviewing and responding to customer inquiries.
  • Perform non-conformance reporting, sampling, and third-party testing.
  • Maintain critical control point validation
  • Ensure cleaning, sanitization, calibration, and certification of lab equipment per GMP processes.
  • Participate in preparation and audits for safety and quality certifications.
  • Manage time and attendance of employees including timecards, time off requests, and schedules.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory responsibilities

  • Assists in recruitment and retention activities to include interviewing, hiring, training, and coaching.
  • Oversees the execution and quality of training program for new hires to ensure accurate and adequate operational knowledge is gained.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations and feedback to staff in the department.
  • Oversees the daily workflow of assigned departments.
  • In coordination with human resources, handles employee relations, discipline, and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of safety, quality, productivity, and plant operations/processes
  • Computer literacy to include Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of shipping documentation, BOL, COA, MSDS, DOT rules and Regulations, GMP’s. BRC experience preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent teamwork and leadership skills.
  • Flexibility in accepting change and an attitude of continuous improvement.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to solve problems as they arise.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and multiple priorities simultaneously.
