Director of Textiles, Wholesale Apparel

We are currently seeking an experienced Director of Textiles to lead the sourcing, development, costing, and production of woven fabrics across multiple brands. This individual will oversee the textile team, drive strategic supplier partnerships, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure quality, cost, and calendar objectives are achieved.

• Lead and manage the Textiles team, overseeing all aspects of fabric sourcing, costing, negotiation, booking, and production.
• Utilize extensive technical expertise in woven fabrics, including construction, dyeing, finishing processes, and cost optimization.
• Partner closely with Design, Product Development, Production, Technical Design, and Merchandising to proactively identify challenges and develop effective solutions.
• Research, evaluate, and recommend mills, suppliers, and fabrications that support brand vision, quality standards, and margin objectives.
• Review all fabric qualities prior to placement, including pricing, delivery, performance, and overall feasibility.
• Ensure all adopted qualities, standards, testing requirements, and approvals are completed before bulk production.
• Review and maintain seasonal booking strategies in partnership with the VP of Textiles & Trim.
• Lead weekly WIP meetings with the team to monitor delivery timelines, production status, and potential risks.
• Communicate production challenges and recommended solutions to senior leadership in a timely manner.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with domestic and overseas mills and suppliers to ensure quality, innovation, and on-time delivery.
• Monitor market trends, new fabric developments, and sourcing opportunities to support each brand's business needs.
• Anticipate production challenges and proactively manage timelines to meet calendar deadlines.
• Partner closely with the Costing team to monitor pricing, fabric yields, and margin objectives prior to placement.
• Oversee department systems, reporting, PLM, calendars, and seasonal tracking tools.
• Mentor, develop, and motivate the Textiles team while fostering collaboration across all cross-functional departments.

• Bachelor's degree in Textiles, Fashion Merchandising, Fashion Design, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of textile sourcing, textile development, or textile management experience within the apparel industry.
• Strong technical knowledge of woven fabrics, construction, dyeing, finishing processes, and garment testing requirements.
• Proven experience leading teams and managing cross-functional initiatives.
• Exceptional collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with PLM systems preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while consistently meeting deadlines.
