Soldering Machine Operator

Aleading designer and manufacturer of low voltage electronics and power supplies.

• Controls wave-soldering machine or system to solder electronic components onto printed circuit boards, according to processing specifications:
  Reads production schedules and operations manuals and receives verbal instructions regarding sequential start up and operation of wave-soldering machine or system.

Adjusts controls of machines to regulate operating speed and temperature and height of flux, wax, and solder waves.

Observes meters, gauges, and indicator lights to ensure that soldering of PCB's conforms to processing standards.

• Monitors boards moving through process to verify that timing, temperatures, and dimensions are set according to standards.
• Feed or retrieve boards to or from conveyor system.

Cleans parts and interiors of machines and replenishes fluids in machines and equipment.

Performs preventive maintenance on machines and equipment, using hand tools.

Examines samples of soldered boards to detect substandard soldering.

Physical Requirements:

• The ability to quickly and repeatedly make precise adjustments in moving the controls of the machine to exact positions.
• The ability to see details of objects at a close range (within a few feet of the observer)
• Ability to lift 20-50pound racks.
• Ability to wear particulate respirator.

Rate of pay:In compliance with the New York City salary transparency requirements, the hourly rate for this position ranges from $20.00 to $21.00 per hour; which may be increased upon successful completion of the 90thday introductory period.

Full-time/regular (40 hours per week)/Monday-Friday (8:30am- 5:00pm)
