Part-Time Quality Control Specialist

At Markarian, we are dedicated to crafting elegant and timeless fashion pieces with an unwavering commitment to quality and craftsmanship. We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Quality Control (QC) Specialist to join our team on a part-time basis. This role is responsible for supporting quality control across our product and working closely with the Production and Product Development teams, while also assisting with inventory, logistics, and order fulfillment as needed.

This is a part-time and in-person position based in our New York City office.

• Approximately 20 hours per week, with flexibility based on workload and scheduling.
• Must be available to work in person in New York City.

• Quality Control:
  Inspect seasonal samples, production units, made-to-order pieces, and client orders to ensure they meet Markarian's quality and craftsmanship standards.
• Measurements & Specifications:
  Measure garments against approved specifications and size charts, documenting and clearly flagging any discrepancies to the Production and Product Development teams.
• Garment Inspection:
  Review construction, sewing, fabric, trims, closures, labels, finishing, pressing, damages, and overall appearance, identifying any issues or necessary repairs.
• Repairs & Follow-Up:
  Work with the Production team to track garments requiring repairs or corrections and re-inspect as needed before approval.
• Sample & Fitting Support:
  Inspect and prepare seasonal samples for fittings and assist the Production and Product Development teams with samples and garments as needed.
• Order Fulfillment:
  Support the preparation, packing, and fulfillment of wholesale, e-commerce, and client orders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Inventory & Receiving:
  Assist with receiving finished goods, physical inventory counts, product organization, and identifying inventory discrepancies.
• Shipping & Logistics:
  Support wholesale ticketing, labeling, packaging, shipping, and other logistics needs in coordination with the inventory/logistics and accounting teams.
• Organization:
  Maintain an organized QC, packaging, and inventory area and ensure garments and materials are properly handled and stored.
• Production Support:
  Assist with fabrics, trims, samples, and other production needs, including occasional Garment District errands as needed.

• Familiarity with Shopify, Apparel Magic, or similar e-commerce/inventory systems.
• Basic hand-sewing skills for minor adjustments or repairs.
• Experience working with luxury, bridal, evening wear, or other high-end garments.

• Strong attention to detail and an excellent eye for quality and craftsmanship.
• Understanding of garment construction, measurements, and apparel production processes.
• Highly organized with the ability to accurately manage multiple garments, orders, and priorities.
• Proactive communicator who is comfortable clearly flagging quality or measurement issues.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with Production, Product Development, and Operations teams.
• Reliable and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Prior experience in quality control, technical design, product development, or fashion production is preferred.
• Comfortable working hands-on with garments and physical inventory throughout the day.
