Production and Materials Planner

Summary The Production and materials Planner owns the execution layer between demand and supply — releasing and validating MRP output, planning production for the smaller-account portfolio, and driving material availability so open orders and forecast demand ship on time. Serves as the primary planning contact for Sales on delivery timing and for the overseas office on POs, forecasts, and pricing.

Core Responsibilities

Planning & Production

• Release and review MRP recommendations in the ERP system, validating output against demand signals before conversion to production orders
• Build and maintain production forecasts and plans for smaller retail accounts
• Expedite production to close gaps against open orders and forecast demand
• Own the promotion/priority list, keeping it current with ship dates, quantities, account detail, and status

Materials & Inventory

• Manage stock levels of all packaging and accessory items used in finished-goods packing, including reorder points and replenishment timing
• Review bills of material for accuracy and work with Product Engineering to update as designs, components, or pack configurations change
• Identify slow-moving and excess inventory for repurposing into active programs

Cross-Functional

• Serve as the planning point of contact for Sales on all delivery, availability, and production inquiries
• Partner with the overseas office on forecasting, purchase order management, and pricing resolution
• Maintain inventory and purchasing of office and housekeeping supplies

Qualifications

• 2–5 years in production planning, materials planning, or supply chain within consumer products, apparel, or accessories
• Hands-on ERP/MRP experience (Net Suite preferred)
• Experience with BOM structures and packaging/component sourcing
• Comfortable working across time zones with overseas manufacturing partners
• Direct, responsive communicator who can hold a firm date under pressure from Sales
