Looking for a steady, hands-on job where you can make a difference? Join a Material Recovery Facility (MRF) in Stanley, NY as a Sorter and play an important role in keeping recyclable materials moving through the facility and out of the waste stream.

Hiring Range: $16.00–$17.50/hour, based on experience

As a Sorter, you'll work alongside a team to inspect and sort recyclable materials as they move along a conveyor belt. You'll identify materials based on type, size, condition, and grade and place them in their appropriate locations.

• Sort assigned recyclable materials efficiently and accurately

• Inspect materials moving along the conveyor belt

• Maintain a clean and organized work area

• Perform general housekeeping and cleaning around plant equipment

• Report equipment or system problems to the Supervisor immediately

• Follow all company safety policies and procedures

• Wear required PPE at all times

• Complete initial safety training and participate in monthly training

• Maintain strong attendance and a consistent safety record

• Work cooperatively with team members to meet facility goals

• Perform additional duties as needed to support facility operations

• Work effectively in a collaborative team environment

• Stand for extended periods

• Reach, bend, push, pull, lift, carry, and climb as required

• Follow safety procedures and wear required PPE

• Pay close attention to materials and sorting requirements

• Pass required pre-employment testing

• Be legally eligible to work in the United States
