About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly organized and analytical Production Planner to join their manufacturing operations in East London . This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient scheduling and execution of production runs to meet customer demand while optimizing resource utilization. You will work closely with sales, procurement, and production teams to create realistic production plans, manage schedules, and resolve potential conflicts.

The ideal candidate possesses strong planning skills, a good understanding of manufacturing processes, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, contributing to the smooth flow of operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on demand forecasts, order priorities, and resource availability.
  • Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.
  • Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as necessary to address unforeseen issues or changes in demand.
  • Collaborate with production teams to ensure efficient line utilization and adherence to planned output.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends, potential bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Communicate production plans and schedule updates to relevant stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Production Planner or in a similar planning role within manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of production planning methodologies, MRP systems, and forecasting.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in planning software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with various departments.
