The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving manufacturing processes to enhance safety, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency. This role works cross-functionally with production, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and engineering teams to optimize manufacturing operations, support new product introductions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and improve manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, and workflows.
- Analyze production methods and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and lower manufacturing costs.
- Support new product launches by developing process documentation, work instructions, and production standards.
- Lead continuous improvement projects using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other operational excellence methodologies.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance to investigate and resolve process-related quality issues.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), process flow diagrams, and manufacturing documentation.
- Monitor production performance through data analysis and recommend process improvements.
- Participate in equipment selection, installation, validation, and commissioning activities.
- Ensure manufacturing processes comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
- Support capital expenditure projects and prepare cost-benefit analyses for proposed improvements.
- Train production personnel on new processes, equipment, and best practices.
- Maintain accurate engineering records, process specifications, and documentation.
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related engineering field.
- 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production systems, and industrial equipment.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency with CAD software and manufacturing process design tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical data.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP/MRP systems.
