Location: New York

Mociun is seeking an experienced Fine Jewelry Production & Product Development Coordinator with an exceptional eye for detail who is highly solution-oriented and a proactive self-starter.

As an integral part of the Production team, this multidimensional role will fully own the production process from kickoff through completion. This role will also support the product development process where development meets production, helping to manage sampling, initial production, and the transition of new designs into a successful production flow.

Working across unique one-of-a-kind designs as well as collections designed for production at a greater scale, this person will be a hands-on partner in bringing Mociun designs from concept through development and final production.

This is a full-time position based in our Williamsburg, Brooklyn office, Monday-Friday, 10:00 AM-6:00 PM.

Responsibilities Production Management
  • Own and coordinate the full production process from purchase order placement, quality control, and receiving - while ensuring orders remain on track with vendors.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with vendors, proactively following up on orders and addressing delays, issues, or changes as they arise.
  • Coordinate closely with the sales team and internal teams to ensure production priorities are aligned and timelines are realistic and achievable.
  • Coordinate and track casting orders, ensuring timelines, quantities, and specifications are accurate prior to production.
  • Manage casting returns and vendor credits when issues arise, ensuring appropriate labor and costs are accounted for.
  • Monitor and coordinate stone re-ordering, chain sourcing and ordering, and findings procurement to support production needs.
  • Manage and coordinate district runs for our part-time runner, as well as, work directly with vendors in person when necessary to complete time-sensitive or detail-sensitive tasks efficiently and accurately.
  • Review and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) throughout the production lifecycle as designs, materials, or costs evolve.
Quality Expectations & Repairs
  • Assist in creating and maintaining detailed tech sheets and assembly instructions, particularly for pieces involving mechanisms or complex construction, and ensure approved samples and design details are accurately documented for future production of evergreen reorders.
  • Conduct quality control on completed production, and throughout the production lifecycle, ensuring pieces are produced to the highest quality and meet Mociun's established standards.
  • Intake and coordinate repairs from the Sales team, ensuring a complete understanding of the client situation, piece history, repair needs, and desired outcome.
Product Development & Initial Production
  • Coordinate sampling and initial production with vendors, ensuring specifications, materials, construction, and quality expectations are clearly communicated.
  • Support customized and evergreen product development, partnering closely with the sales team to develop and produce bridal and core collection pieces from initial concept through final production. Manage CAD initiation, revisions, approvals, and communication across internal and external partners to ensure each piece moves efficiently from development into production.
  • Work closely with the Production team to identify production considerations early and help establish efficient processes for new designs.
Qualifications
  • BA in related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in jewelry production, project management, or related field
  • Demonstrated experience in product development and an understanding of technical CAD
  • Experience with Airtable, Excel, and Shopify a plus
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and CAD a plus
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to make trips to NYC's diamond district on an as-needed basis

The salary range for this position is $75,000-$85,000 annually, with compensation based on experience, qualifications, and relevant expertise.
