Senior Technical Designer

Our client, a contemporary womenswear brand is seeking a Senior Technical Designer to join their team in NYC!

• Manage the technical development and fit process.
• Review samples and provide fit and construction feedback.
• Conduct fittings and communicate clear comments.
• Review measurements, proportions, construction, and overall garment fit.
• Identify and resolve technical and fit-related issues.
• Collaborate with Design, Production, Sourcing, Pattern, and Quality teams.
• Communicate technical updates and corrections with overseas factories and vendors.
• Maintain and review technical documentation and specifications.
• Partner with factories to ensure quality, fit, and construction standards are met.
• Provide guidance on garment construction, materials, trims, and production techniques.
• Support the resolution of production issues and ensure consistency through bulk production.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior members of the technical team.

• 7+ years of experience.
• Strong knowledge of apparel construction, fit, pattern making, and manufacturing.
• Experience working across both woven and knit categories.
• Strong fitting and technical communication skills.
• Knowledge of measurements, specifications, tolerances, and grading.
• Experience working with overseas factories and vendors.
• Understanding of the product development process from initial development through production.
• Ability to interpret patterns and technical specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Hybrid, 3 days on site.

Salary: $80,000 -$100,000 commensurate with experience
