- Brooklyn, NY is seeking an experienced Cosmetic Chemist and Compo under to join a reputable cosmetics manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, scientifically minded, and passionate about product formulation and quality control.
As a Cosmetic Chemist and Compo under, you'll be responsible for formulating, mixing, and testing cosmetic and personal-care products in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements. You'll work closely with R&D, production, and quality teams to ensure consistency, safety, and innovation in every batch produced.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, test, and refine cosmetic formulations for creams, lotions, gels, and other products
- Weigh, measure, and compound ingredients according to precise formulas and production orders
- Conduct stability and compatibility testing on raw materials and finished products
- Maintain accurate lab records and batch documentation
- Ensure compliance with GMP, FDA, and safety regulations
- Collaborate with product development and quality assurance teams to improve formulations
- Experience - 2+ years of hands-on experience in cosmetic formulation or compounding
- Education - Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field (preferred)
- Technical Skills - Familiarity with lab equipment, weighing instruments, and mixing procedures
- Knowledge - Understanding of cosmetic ingredients, emulsions, surfactants, and preservatives
- Attention to Detail - Strong record-keeping and quality-control focus
- Commute - Must reside within a reasonable distance (60 minutes or less commute)
