The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary

The Data Science Institute (DSI) at Columbia University is a world‑leading research and education institute advancing the field of data science. DSI’s mission is to transform all fields and sectors through the responsible application of data science.

Reporting to the Chief of Strategic Alliances, the Program Coordinator plays a central role in shaping and amplifying DSI’s external partnerships brand. This role works to position DSI as a premier partner for industry, nonprofit, and public‑sector organizations through marketing, communications, events, and digital engagement. Working closely with the Communications, and Events and Marketing teams, the Program Coordinator develops and executes strategies that showcase DSI’s partnership ecosystem, elevate partner visibility, and create compelling engagement opportunities for external collaborators, students, and faculty.

Responsibilities

Partnerships Brand, Marketing, and Communications
  • Builds and manages a cohesive brand narrative for DSI’s alliances, ensuring consistent messaging across marketing, communications, events, and digital platforms.

  • Collaborates with the Communications and Marketing teams to develop public‑facing content highlighting industry partnerships, including web content, newsletters, presentations, reports, and promotional materials.

  • Supports the development and execution of partnership‑focused marketing campaigns that position DSI as a leading collaborator in data science research, education, and applied innovation.

  • Maintains and curates partnership‑related content for DSI’s website and digital channels, ensuring information is current, compelling, and aligned with institutional branding.

  • Coordinates with communications colleagues to amplify partnership milestones, announcements, and success stories through appropriate channels.

  • Contributes to the growth and visibility of DSI’s social media presence by developing partnership‑related content ideas, coordinating posts, and tracking engagement.

Events and Experiential Engagement
  • Collaborates with the Events team to plan, promote, and execute industry‑facing events that strengthen DSI’s partnerships brand and create meaningful engagement opportunities.

  • Coordinates logistics and content development for industry‑related events, including campus visits, convenings, workshops, and signature programs such as DSD.

  • Ensures partnership events are thoughtfully designed, well‑executed, and aligned with DSI’s strategic messaging and brand standards.

  • Supports on‑site event execution and post‑event follow‑up, including partner communications and impact tracking.

Strategy, Collaboration, and Continuous Improvement
  • Partners closely with the Communications, and Events and Marketing teams to align timelines, messaging, and execution across partnership initiatives.

  • Tracks engagement outcomes and prepares summaries or reports that demonstrate the reach and impact of partnership activities.

  • Identifies opportunities to strengthen DSI’s external positioning through improved storytelling, programming, and partner touch points.

Industry Partnerships and External Engagement
  • Maintains comprehensive and up‑to‑date information and data for all industry partnerships.

  • Collaborates with the finance team on financial management of industry partnerships, including invoicing, tracking payments, and monitoring terms.

  • Partners with the marketing and communications team to develop and review public‑facing materials related to the industry partnerships program.

  • Develop a variety of reports, including profile reports for prospective partners and engagement summaries for current partners.
