Location: New York

The Lede Company is seeking an experienced, highly skilled strategic communications strategist to join our Strategic Corporate Communications and Social Impact practices. This role supports a variety of corporate and nonprofit clients operating at the intersection of business, culture, and impact.

The ideal candidate brings strong agency experience, exceptional client leadership skills, and a deep understanding of how corporate communications, reputation, partnerships, and social impact strategies work together to drive both business and societal outcomes. The ideal candidate is an astute communicator, researcher and proven strategist committed to delivering excellent, client-ready work. This is a highly collaborative, client-facing role that requires strategic thinking, proficient writing, and the ability to manage complex, fast-moving accounts.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead day‑to‑day account management across strategic corporate communications and social impact clients
  • Develop and execute integrated communications strategies, including messaging, media relations, thought leadership, and campaigns
  • Serve as a senior counselor to clients navigating reputational, business, or social impact challenges
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with top‑tier national, trade, and issue‑area media
  • Develop compelling narratives, press materials, pitches, and briefing documents
  • Manage project timelines, workflows, budgets, and internal teams
  • Take an active role in driving new business development, proposals, and client growth opportunities
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with Talent, Brand, Content, and Impact teams
  • Mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative team culture
Required skills & experience:
  • 10+ years of experience in strategic corporate communications, social impact, or related agency work
  • Proven experience leading client relationships and developing communications strategies from concept to execution
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills across formats and audiences
  • Strong understanding of media landscapes, reputation management, and impact‑driven communications
  • Experience working with corporations, nonprofits, foundations, or mission‑driven organizations
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
  • Team‑oriented mindset with strong leadership and collaboration skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel
Preferred skills & experience:
  • Existing relationships and experience working with NGOs, civil society and/or policy‑or‑advocacy‑related organizations
  • Experience working with and leading diverse stakeholders through projects or initiatives, including talent champions, policy leaders, corporate executives, nonprofit and civil society organizations
  • Reports to Vice President, Strategic Communications & Social Impact
  • Full‑time staff role with benefits; based in NYC or Los Angeles
  • Must be authorized for employment in the United States
