You’ll join a fast-growing business focused on scaling premium and mass brands through omni-channel strategies, including specialty retail, e-commerce, and social platforms.
About the Role
The Assistant Brand Manager will support the strategy, development, and execution of the brand portfolio for a key haircare brand line. This role is responsible for driving end-to-end brand initiatives—from concept to launch and post-launch optimization—across all channels. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional partners (including global brand, sales, education, creative, supply chain, and external agencies) to ensure best-in-class execution at every consumer and customer touchpoint.
The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with hands-on project management, has a strong passion for beauty and personal care, is highly analytical, and is eager to test new tactics to grow brand awareness, penetration, and loyalty.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and maintenance of a rolling innovation pipeline and product calendar, ensuring alignment with global and regional strategies.
- Contribute to brand strategy by leveraging consumer insights, category trends, and competitive intelligence to inform product and marketing decisions.
- Manage core elements of brand development from concept to go‑to‑market, including briefs, claims, product positioning, value proposition, and packaging direction.
- Help define target audiences and refine brand positioning; support the creation of integrated marketing plans across digital, retail, and direct‑selling channels.
- Analyze brand and category performance (sales, profitability, SKU productivity, inventory, and channel performance) to identify opportunities and recommend actions.
- Support the execution of 360° marketing programs (launches, campaigns, promotions) from planning through post‑mortem, coordinating timelines and deliverables.
- Partner with NPD, R&D, and Supply Chain to track product development milestones, manage documentation, and help troubleshoot risks to on‑time launch.
- Maintain and update project trackers, launch calendars, and reporting tools for internal reviews and leadership updates.
- Interface with external vendors and agencies to coordinate samples, artwork, cost quotes, and production timelines.
- Assist in developing content and asset requirements across channels (e-commerce, social, retail marketing, education), ensuring brand consistency and relevance.
- Collaborate with Sales and Channel Marketing to adapt brand strategies and toolkits to retailer needs, driving incremental visibility and sell‑through.
- Monitor performance of marketing activities and content, summarizing learnings and optimizing future plans based on data and qualitative feedback.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in brand marketing, product marketing, or product development, preferably in beauty, personal care, or consumer packaged goods.
- Proven experience operating in a digital‑first environment, including social media marketing, e-commerce, and performance or web analytics.
- Experience working with major specialty or prestige beauty retailers (e.g., Sephora, Ulta, or similar) is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success working within a matrixed organization and influencing cross‑functional partners.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using data to inform strategy, build business cases, and measure campaign effectiveness.
- Solid understanding of consumer and category trends, with the ability to translate insights into differentiated product and brand strategies.
- Experience collaborating with R&D, Operations/Supply Chain, Creative, and Sales teams to bring new products to market.
- Exceptional project management, organization, and attention to detail; able to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create clear briefs, presentations, and recommendations.
- Passion for the beauty and personal care space, with curiosity about ingredients, claims, and emerging consumer behaviors.
