Position OverviewMerkley + Partners is seeking a Media Planner to support the Mercedes-Benz USA business
, spanning both national brand initiatives and local/regional dealer marketing (Tier
2). This role will contribute to media strategies that balance brand storytelling with performance-driven retail objectives across a mix of national and local channels.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytically minded, and excited by the complexity of managing media plans that support both national consistency and local market nuance.
Key Responsibilities- Develop strategic, data-informed media plans aligned to Mercedes-Benz brand, sales, and dealer objectives
- Partner closely with account, strategy, and analytics teams to translate marketing goals into effective national and local media approaches
- Leverage audience insights, market dynamics, and media research to inform channel selection and media mix recommendations
- Support planning and buying across channels including digital, paid social, video, audio, and emerging platforms
- Manage campaign execution timelines, ensuring media placements are delivered accurately, on time, and within budget
- Monitor and analyze campaign performance, providing ongoing insights and optimization recommendations
- Support local and regional dealer initiatives by helping tailor media approaches to specific market needs
- Maintain strong working relationships with media partners and internal teams
- Stay current on automotive, retail, and media landscape trends to bring proactive ideas to the business
- 2+ years of experience in media planning (agency experience strongly preferred)
- Experience working on automotive, retail, or multi-market clients is a plus
- Strong understanding of media planning fundamentals, including audience targeting, channel strategy, and performance optimization
- Comfortable working across both brand and performance-driven objectives
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple work streams simultaneously
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Clear, confident written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with media planning tools and research platforms
- Proficiency in Excel and Power Point
