Description
The Brand Strategy & Creative team at the Skimm is a group of ambitious and collaborative designers and strategists who define and execute the Skimm’s visual identity. As a Brand Designer, you’ll create designs that support our sales, commerce, marketing needs and editorial products while contributing to the evolution of the Skimm’s brand.
The ideal candidate has a sophisticated aesthetic, strong technical design skills, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with sales, brand strategy, creative, commerce, editorial, marketing, and product teams to turn ideas into compelling, polished design solutions across campaigns, presentations, and brand collateral.
- Concept and design pitch decks, RFP responses, and category materials that support the sales team in telling strong stories and pursuing new business.
- Evolve sales and brand templates while developing new, creative approaches for pitching ideas to partners and clients.
- Design post-sale campaign assets, supporting the translation of sold ideas into high-quality creative across newsletters, marketing emails, branded content, and digital placements.
- Design and refine newsletter templates, marketing emails, promotional assets, and business collateral that support both pre-sale storytelling and post-sale delivery, elevate the Skimm’s brand, and drive revenue.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support the concepting and execution of integrated campaign creative across editorial, commerce, and client initiatives.
- Innovate with the design team to evolve the Skimm’s visual language while maintaining brand consistency.
- Stay current on design trends, tools, and techniques, applying fresh thinking to everyday work.
- Own projects independently while partnering closely with senior designers and cross-functional stakeholders.
- 3+ years of professional experience in digital design
- Strong critical thinking and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team, as well as independently
- Self‑learning, able to learn new tools quickly and work in a fast‑evolving environment
- Expertise in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, with strong technical proficiency in email design and layout.
- Experience expressing a brand identity across all channels and campaigns
- Sophisticated design aesthetic with a passion for typography, strong composition skills, and an understanding of grids and color theory
- Familiarity with creating assets for marketing emails, newsletters, and digital campaigns.
- Solid understanding of branding, growth marketing, and visual storytelling.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work across teams and incorporate feedback effectively.
- Experience designing for email platforms
- Familiarity with the Skimm’s audience, tone, and brand voice.
- Interest in commerce and editorial design trends targeting millennial women.
