Overview

Blue Hour Studios is a social-first agency that creates brands magnetic through work that gets shared, remixed, and talked about. We live at the intersection of culture, content, creators, and commerce to help brands turn distinct cultural relevance into demand. Headquartered in New York and Los Angeles and backed by Horizon Media, we connect creativity and media to drive real business impact.

Our recipe for success? We hire talented people from different perspectives (that’s where you come in), challenge them, and give them every opportunity to grow.

What You’ll Do:

Our strategy team uncovers the interesting connections across culture, content, creators and commerce that help brands succeed in a social-first world. We’re looking for a curious, culturally switched-on Strategist to join our team and help shape social-first strategies that drive meaningful impact for our clients. You’ll support strategy development across a portfolio of clients, contributing research, insights, and strategic thinking that fuels creative ideas people actually want to engage with.

You’ll collaborate closely with creative and account teams, support new business efforts, and help bring Blue Hour’s social-first POV to life across briefs, decks, and presentations.

  • Conduct research and discovery to uncover cultural insights, social trends, platform shifts, and audience behaviors that inform social and creator strategies.
  • Perform competitive and social analysis to identify provocative whitespace opportunities.
  • Contribute to strategy deliverables including social strategy, creative briefs, campaign plans, and communications frameworks.
  • Partner with creative and account teams to help shape the strategic direction of campaigns and content ideas.
  • Build decks and campaign narratives that clearly communicate insights and strategy.
  • Track trends across platforms, creators, and communities, and bring fresh inspiration to the team.
  • Support brainstorms, workshops, and creative sessions with relevant cultural and audience inputs.
  • Stay in tune with emerging behaviors, platforms, creators, and tools that are reshaping culture and marketing.
New Business & Thought Leadership:

Support new business efforts through research, insights, and cultural exploration.

  • Contribute to Blue Hour POVs, trend briefings, and social content that reflects what’s happening in culture and on platforms.
  • Help surface emerging creators, formats, and communities that can inspire new strategic approaches.
  • Support development of case studies and awards entries that show effectiveness of our work.
Who You Are:
  • At least 2 years of agency experience in a strategy or planning role.
  • Deeply plugged into social media, internet culture, and online communities, with ability to explain insights in a compelling and approachable way.
  • Social and advertising nerd with an impressive Substack following list.
  • Curious about why trends happen, not just what’s trending.
  • Strong writer and sharp thinker who can turn observations into insights.
  • Organized, collaborative, and comfortable juggling multiple projects.
  • Eager to learn, grow, and develop your strategic voice.
  • Go‑to source for co‑workers who want to understand internet culture.
Additional Requirements:
  • Familiarity with strategy and insight frameworks, and how to apply them in real‑world briefs.
  • Proven experience conducting in‑depth research and developing actionable insights.
  • Solid deck writing and presentation skills, with comfort pitching internally and contributing to client‑facing materials.
  • Familiarity with research tools and social analytics tools (Helixa, Tubular, MRI, etc.).
  • Comfort contributing to new business efforts and client‑facing presentations.
Salary Range:

$75,000.00 - $. A successful applicant’s actual base salary may vary based on factors such as individual’s skill sets, experience, training, education, licensure/certifications, and qualifications for the role.

Benefits:
  • Discretionary bonus

  • Life and disability insurance
  • Retirement savings plans
  • Company paid holidays and unlimited paid time off (PTO)
  • Mental health and wellness resources
  • Pet insurance
