Homefield helps accelerators, universities, and economic development organizations launch investment funds, and we're building the tools, content, and community to support the next generation of fund managers. Our goal is bold: a thousand funds across the United States in the next ten years, transforming who gets funded and how communities build wealth.

We are a small, founder-led team doing meaningful work at the intersection of finance, entrepreneurship, and economic development.

OVERVIEW

Homefield Operations is looking for a Marketing Communications Manager to own our suite of companies' brand, content, public relations, and events. You will be responsible for telling Homefield's story to the world, building awareness of our programs, and creating the events and publications that position Homefield as a leader in community-centered fund management. This role reports to the Founder and manages marketing interns, ecosystem builders, and outside vendors.

THE ROLE

Homefield is growing, and the people who need our programs need to know we exist. As Marketing Communications Manager, you own every dimension of how Homefield shows up publicly: our website, social media, email campaigns, press coverage, publications, and events.

You will develop and execute Homefield's marketing and communications strategy, manage relationships with outside publications and media outlets, plan and produce events that connect fund managers, entrepreneurs, and community partners, and create content that drives awareness and inbound interest in our programs. You will also manage and mentor marketing interns who support content production, social media, and event logistics.

This is a hands‑on role. You will be both the strategist and the executor, building the marketing function from the ground up while producing work every day.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Content and Brand
  • Develop and maintain Homefield's brand voice, messaging, and visual identity across all channels
  • Create and manage a content calendar spanning blog posts, newsletters, social media, case studies, and thought leadership
  • Write and produce content that communicates the impact of Homefield's work to fund managers, entrepreneurs, economic development organizations, and funders
  • Manage Homefield's website, ensuring content is current, compelling, and aligned with organizational goals
  • Oversee social media strategy and execution across platforms
Public Relations and Publications
  • Build and manage relationships with journalists, editors, and outside publications relevant to economic development, venture capital, entrepreneurship, and community investing
  • Pitch stories, secure press coverage, and draft press releases that raise Homefield's national profile
  • Identify and pursue speaking opportunities, guest articles, and contributed content placements for Homefield leadership
  • Monitor media coverage and maintain a press kit and media contact list
Events
  • Plan, produce, and manage Homefield events including conferences, workshops, networking events, webinars, and community gatherings
  • Develop event strategy that supports business development, brand awareness, and community building
  • Manage event logistics from concept through execution, including venues, vendors, speakers, registration, and follow‑up
  • Coordinate with the Programs Manager and Operations Manager to align event programming with Homefield's program calendar
  • Track event performance and attendee engagement to inform future programming
Team Management
  • Manage and mentor marketing interns, delegating work across content production, social media, and event logistics
  • Set clear goals and expectations for interns and provide regular feedback
  • Build workflows and systems that allow the marketing function to scale as the team grows
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5 to 8 years of experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field
  • Strong writing and editing skills with a portfolio that demonstrates range across formats: long‑form content, social media, press materials, and event collateral
  • Experience managing relationships with media outlets and securing press coverage
  • Experience planning and executing events, from small workshops to larger…
