Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to Dechert’s U.S. public relations efforts, supporting the team in maximizing media coverage in alignment with the firm’s business strategy.
Responsibilities- Support the U.S. PR team by researching and identifying media opportunities, and pitching approved ideas to targeted media outlets.
- Assist in media monitoring, maintaining the media tracker, and preparing a daily media coverage report.
- Draft press releases, media briefing notes, and background materials for interviews.
- Coordinate media interviews, press events, byline article placement, and related administrative tasks.
- Maintain and update target media lists, conduct conflict checks, and serve as a point of contact for routine PR requests.
- Support additional projects and initiatives as required to meet team goals.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple work streams and meet tight deadlines.
- Meticulous attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to confidentiality.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable leveraging media monitoring tools and AI technologies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent grammar and the ability to produce clear, error‑free documents.
- Enthusiastic, high‑energy team collaborator who thrives independently with minimal guidance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or English.
- 1–2 years of experience in a public relations, communications, or media relations role, preferably within a professional services environment, or four semesters of competitive internship experience in a relevant field.
Salary range: $55,000 to $65,000 annually (New York). Full‑time, New York.
