Mad Partnership has been the Business Improvement District (BID) serving the Flatiron neighborhood in Manhattan since 2006 and in 2022 expanded its service area to include the exciting and evolving No
Mad area. The Partnership provides supplemental services including sanitation, public safety, homeless outreach, streetscape/beautification, placemaking/public programming, and marketing for the neighborhood’s visitors, workers, and residents. We manage the neighborhood’s unique public spaces, including the Flatiron Public Plazas and No
Mad Piazza, and host events and placemaking programs throughout the year that celebrate and promote Flatiron and No
Mad’s dynamic businesses and experiences.
The Partnership is seeking a Marketing & Digital Media Intern to work up to 20 hours per week to perform a variety of functions related to Flatiron and No
Mad marketing, content, programming, and events.
- Support the implementation of marketing campaigns and communications efforts for Partnership programs, seasonal activations, and neighborhood initiatives.
- Be responsible for Instagram story content capturing programs, commercial activations, and in neighborhood events.
- Help schedule content across social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, Linked In, and X/Twitter.
- Approve website content from local events to business deals.
- Order promotional content like postcard, posters, signage for our signature events.
- Help organize marketing assets, photo libraries, digital files, and content calendars.
- Programming and event staffing support when needed.
- Additional marketing and event team tasks as assigned.
- General administrative support as needed.
- Current undergraduate or graduate student, or recent graduate, pursuing studies in marketing, communications, public relations, event management, or a related field.
- Interest in marketing, social media, public programming, and/or events.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A "can-do" attitude, a willingness to learn, and a general excitement for city life, community engagement, and/or supporting small businesses.
- Familiarity with social media platforms.
- Willingness to take initiative, multi-task, work well with others and work independently at times.
- Part-time internship (approximately 15–20 hours per week).
- Fall 2026 semester with potential extension through Winter 2027.
- Full in office position based in Manhattan, with some on-site event support required.
- Opportunity to gain hands‑on experience working on high-profile neighborhood events and campaigns.
This position offers an hourly wage of $20–$25, commensurate with the candidate’s academic level and relevant experience. Undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to apply.
