Manager, Creative Director – Capital One

Brand Creative is looking for an experienced, innovative, strategic creative leader who has managed and led creative teams. The role focuses on site design, brand building, and performance marketing on and across email, web, direct mail, paid digital, video, and out‑of‑home channels.

• Lead and inspire the team to develop strategically‑grounded, insight‑driven creative.
• Manage creative talent (Art Directors, Graphic Designers, and Copywriters) including full‑time associates, contractors, and agencies.
• Coach and mentor full‑time associates to help them grow in their careers.
• Collaborate with marketing strategists and internal business clients to understand customer needs and positively influence marketing strategy and the customer experience.
• Translate business intent into creative strategies and executions that market products effectively.
• Interpret market research and test results to focus targeted marketing messages.
• Build and maintain relationships with partner groups (digital, operations, legal, etc.) to anticipate obstacles and establish Brand Creative as a strategic thought partner.
• Present and influence with a convincing and inspiring style to increase buy‑in and open doors for new opportunities.

Candidates must provide a portfolio of their creative work for consideration.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent military experience.
• At least 3 years of experience leading creative teams.
• At least 5 years of experience in Adobe Creative Suite.

• Creative portfolio that includes produced work for website design and integrated marketing campaigns.
• 5+ years of experience as a Creative Director.
• 2+ years of experience directly managing a creative team.
• 2+ years of experience in digital design software (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD).
• Experience at a large in‑house creative team.
• Experience working with a Fortune 100 brand.
• Experience storyboarding, sketching, or wire framing CX and UI/UX.
• Experience with pre‑market and in‑market testing tools.
• Experience leveraging generation AI, personalization, and optimization tools in creative development and marketing.

The minimum and maximum full‑time annual salaries for this role are listed below by location.

• McLean, VA: $146,100 – $166,700
• New York, NY: $159,400 – $181,900
• Richmond, VA: $132,800 – $151,600

This role is also eligible to earn performance‑based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long‑term incentives.
