The OpportunityOur client is a leading international travel retail operator managing a large-scale duty-free and specialty retail business within JFK Terminal 4.
They are seeking a commercially minded Marketing Specialist to help drive customer engagement, footfall and retail performance across one of the busiest airport terminals in the United States.
This role sits at the intersection of retail, travel, hospitality and customer experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging campaigns, supporting promotional activities, driving brand visibility and creating memorable passenger experiences that increase conversion and spend across the retail operation.
Working closely with brand partners, suppliers, airport stakeholders and internal teams, this individual will play a key role in bringing the retail environment to life through creative marketing initiatives and commercial storytelling.
Key Responsibilities Marketing Campaigns & Activation- Develop and execute a dynamic annual marketing calendar aligned with key retail, seasonal, cultural and travel periods.
- Support the delivery of integrated marketing campaigns across digital, social media, CRM, paid media, in-store marketing and experiential channels.
- Localise and adapt global campaigns to ensure relevance for the New York market and international passenger audience.
- Support product launches, promotional campaigns and seasonal activations across multiple retail categories.
- Create engaging in-terminal experiences designed to increase passenger interaction and spend.
- Support activations including beauty events, gifting campaigns, sampling programmes, tastings and promotional activity.
- Help enhance the passenger journey through innovative customer engagement initiatives.
- Work closely with retail teams to ensure marketing activity is effectively executed in-store.
- Partner with premium brands, suppliers and external agencies to deliver marketing initiatives.
- Collaborate with airport stakeholders and operational teams to execute campaigns within the airport environment.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external partners to maximise campaign effectiveness.
- Support social media and digital marketing initiatives that drive awareness and in-store conversion.
- Assist with online-to-offline campaigns designed to increase passenger engagement and retail sales.
- Monitor campaign performance and analyse customer engagement metrics.
- Help measure the effectiveness and commercial impact of marketing activity.
- Support category growth across beauty, liquor, confectionery, gifting and other retail categories.
- Use customer insights and campaign data to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Contribute ideas that drive revenue, customer engagement and brand awareness.
- 3-6+ years of experience within retail marketing, experiential marketing, consumer marketing, luxury marketing or travel retail.
- Strong project management and organisational skills.
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders, agencies, brands and vendors.
- Commercially minded with an understanding of customer behaviour and retail performance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative thinker with the ability to balance brand objectives and commercial results.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities.
