About Cubby
Cubby is the modern facility management platform built for self-storage. We recently closed a $63M Series A from Goldman Sachs and are growing fast.
Self-storage is a $50B industry and the fastest-growing commercial real estate asset class. Our platform handles everything from payment processing to revenue management for operators across the country, and we currently serve over 400 operators with more than 500k units under management.
We're a small team that gets a lot done, and the work here is felt immediately. If that sounds like your kind of place, read on.
The RoleWe've built a small marketing team we're proud of, who is laying a good foundation. What we're missing is someone with a revenue mindset to lead that group day to day, and to own the piece none of them focus on today, which is turning marketing into pipeline.
That's the job. You'll run marketing, lead a small and genuinely talented team, and personally own demand generation and growth. This is a hands-on role as much as a leadership one, especially early. Some hours you're setting strategy; others you're building a campaign or wiring up a follow-up sequence yourself.
A word on what this is not: it isn't a generalist role where success is measured in shipping campaigns and creative. We care about pipeline and bookings. You'll work closely with the head of sales and marketing, who owns the overall number, and your job is to be the person who helps generate it and make the whole marketing function pull in that direction.
WhatYou'll Own
- Pipeline and growth. You own marketing's contribution to pipeline and bookings, and you're the one figuring out how to grow it. Some quarters that's paid. Some quarters it's a sharp follow-up to everyone we met at a trade show, a webinar, a lifecycle program, or a channel we haven't tried yet. You start from the number you need and work back to the best way to get there, rather than starting from a favorite tactic.
- The team. You'll lead our content, design, and events people, with a likely fourth Product Marketing hire down the road. They're senior and good at what they do, so this is less about managing closely and more about setting direction, clearing roadblocks, and making sure everyone's work adds up to revenue, aka coordinated and complementary.
- Sales and Rev Ops partnership. You'll work with sales every day and with Rev Ops on the systems and reporting under the funnel. The rough split: you own the programs that create pipeline, Rev Ops owns the tooling and measurement. Attribution is something you'll sort out together, not fight about.
- Outbound Perspective. How it's targeted, how it's sequenced, and above all how we measure whether it's working. Pushing to make that motion sharper and more measurable in conjunction with Rev Ops.
- Bringing it all together. A lot of this job is orchestration. The events person has a show calendar, content has a roadmap, and outbound has its sequences. Your job is to make those line up into one coordinated push instead of three people working past each other. When a big show is coming up, the content, the outreach, and the follow-up should all be pointing 're the one holding the whole vision in your head, making sure the pieces reinforce each other and actually drive awareness and revenue.
- Building for what's next. You're laying groundwork for a bigger marketing org. That means hitting this year's numbers while building the habits, hires, and systems to scale. A product marketer is likely on the roadmap, and you'll help decide when to bring in specialists.
- You think like a salesperson. You care about the number and you like chasing it. You'd rather talk about pipeline and dollars than impressions, and a comp plan with a piece tied to results sounds good to you, not scary.
- You're flexible about how you get there. You've spent your career figuring out how to generate deals, not running one playbook. If you've done the same paid‑media job for ten years and nothing else, we're probably not the right fit. We want someone who reaches for whatever works and enjoys problems they haven't solved yet.
- You've actually done demand gen, across more…
