Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: HEAD OF ECOMMERCE - $180-$260K
Location: New York

The Head of Ecommerce is a strategic build role responsible for owning the marketplace growth plan for Idea Nuova's licensed home goods portfolio across Amazon, , Target Plus, and new marketplaces. You'll inherit a lean team (an Amazon account lead and a data analyst), an active multi-category catalog, and full license to build the strategy, the org, the playbook, and the P&L — pulling two clear levers: a disciplined, high-ROI advertising engine and aggressive product and assortment expansion across our licensed portfolio.

This is a pure marketplace role — no DTC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the strategic growth plan — a clear, written roadmap for how we grow marketplace sales: which accounts, which categories, which licenses, funded by which ad investment, on what timeline
  • Own the full ecommerce P&L across Amazon (1P and 3P),  (owned, DSV, and Marketplace), Target Plus, and new marketplace expansion (Tik Tok Shop, Wayfair, Macy's/Kohl's marketplaces, international Amazon)
  • Own retail media and advertising strategy — the full ad budget, restructuring campaigns around profitability, setting ROAS/ACOS and TACoS targets by category, and running weekly performance reviews
  • Improve advertising ROI — shift spend from underperforming campaigns to proven winners, build incrementality discipline, and connect ad spend to contribution margin (not just top-line)
  • Drive product and assortment expansion — identify white space across licenses and categories, bring more of the portfolio online, push into higher-ticket items (kids furniture, top-tier programs), and expand winning items across every marketplace they belong on
  • Build a repeatable new-item launch playbook — how we invest ad dollars behind licensed launches, how fast we expect payback, and when we cut
  • Own the annual budget and weekly scorecard — targets by account, honest variance reporting, and clear action plans for ownership
  • Own catalog strategy — rationalize the unproductive tail and concentrate ad and content investment on winners
  • Own content and listing quality at scale — A+ content, brand stores, imagery, and SEO across every marketplace
  • Partner with production and planning on demand planning and inventory health — no stockouts on top sellers going into Q4, and no ad spend pointed at items we can't ship
  • Execute licensed launches — coordinating hot properties across marketplaces at speed
  • Build the team — hire and develop marketplace managers, content/creative, advertising, and operations talent as the business scales
Qualifications
  • A strategic operator — you've built marketplace growth plans and then executed them, not just run day-to-day operations
  • 10+ years in ecommerce, with 5+ leading marketplace businesses at meaningful scale — marketplace is your core expertise, not a side channel
  • Deep Amazon expertise on both sides:
Vendor Central and Seller Central, AMS / retail media, catalog operations, chargebacks, and forecasting
  • Proven retail media operator — you've owned seven-figure ad budgets, improved efficiency while growing sales, and can explain exactly how you did it
  • Assortment growth experience — you've expanded catalogs into new categories and marketplaces and know how to pick winners
  • Walmart ecosystem fluency — owned/DSV economics and Walmart Marketplace — is a strong plus
  • Home goods, consumer products, or licensed goods experience strongly preferred
  • Analytical and hands‑on — you live in the data, but you'll also fix the broken listing yourself when needed
  • Direct communicator, low ego, comfortable in a fast-moving, founder‑led environment
What Success Looks Like
  • First 90 days: a clear strategic plan on the table — account targets, ad investment strategy, and a product expansion roadmap that principals and the leadership team can get behind
  • Year 1:
Amazon and  back on a clear growth trajectory, measurably improved advertising ROI, new assortment live across marketplaces, and a budget-and-scorecard cadence installed
  • Year 2–3: a genuine multi-marketplace business at multiples of today's size — expanded categories, new marketplaces live and material, and the org built to support it
  • Retail media efficiency improves quarter over quarter, with clear linkage from ad…
