About the roleThe Associate, Membership helps shape the overall vision and goals of the department, joining a team of two other people working towards increases in membership revenue, engagement, and retention. The Associate, Membership is directly responsible for Individual Membership growth, targeting students and professionals domestically and abroad. Additionally, this role helps to strategize improvements for membership events, our annual membership drive, and more.
The Associate, Manager will work alongside a part-time Membership Manager who tracks membership data, fulfills benefits, and performs other key tasks for the department, as well as a Senior Manager, Membership, who they will report to.
The Associate, Membership will plan and execute monthly membership events, communicate with individual members, and help further the goals of the organization.
In addition to membership, this role may be the lead producer of Portfolio Night, a 21 year old global program hosted in 30+ cities across the world.
Key ResponsibilitiesThis key position will have the following responsibilities:
- Deliver upon integrated, long-term strategies for the Membership program at The One Club.
- Grow Individual and Corporate membership with the Membership Director through outreach and meetings as well as presentations.
- Determine key improvements to website and systems to improve sales and member experiences, project manage implementation of solutions.
- Learn and manage the Fonteva online membership platform, maintain membership database
- Manage marketing lists to ensure that The One Club’s outreach is strong and well-targeted.
- Administer Membership program forms, generate acknowledgment letters, renewal requests, and membership reports; maintain an accurate system for tracking membership expiration dates and renewals.
- Actualize fulfillment of Membership benefits, with an emphasis on Individual Members benefits.
- In collaboration with others, plan Member cultivation events, with specific attention to organizing the Individual, Student, and Corporate Member activities.
- Identify new Member prospects, and working with Marketing/Communications, research and develop ways to successfully engage new Members and move current Corporate Members to higher levels.
- Promote local and global events to our Membership and update online events listings.
- Demonstrated maturity and sound judgment, ability to work with a high level of accuracy, and close attention to detail, when managing various data-driven projects
- Self-motivated with outstanding organizational and outstanding writing skills with a proven track record at meeting/exceeding deadlines
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability and personality to work collaboratively and motivate colleagues and donors.
- 1 - 3 plus years of experience in Membership, preferably at a nonprofit organization in the New York market.
- Familiarity with CRMs and working with database management tools
- Strong networking skills, and experience approaching business professionals and soliciting support.
- Ability to work collaboratively with lean staff in a high-energy, team-oriented environment.
- Ability to travel occasionally.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, database spreadsheets and web-based prospect research preferred.
For this position, The One Club is prepared to offer the ideal candidate a salaried, full-time position up to $60,000, plus a discretionary bonus based on performance. This compensation is offered in good faith, and may be subject to change, dependent upon factors such as years of experience or quality of experience.
This is a hybrid position that requires all staff to be present at our New York headquarters in Hudson Yards on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with the possibility of additional days to match potential workload. Travel for this position is expected up to 10% of time. Expected travel may deviate…
