Location: New York

Reporting to the Business Development Manager, Commercial Litigation, this role supports the firm’s Consumer Litigation and Government Litigation practices.

The role focuses on developing and executing marketing and business development activities that advance practice priorities. The role helps identify and pursue business development opportunities; manages pitches, proposals, and RFP responses; and helps advance strategic growth priorities through profile-raising, client development, and cross-office coordination. The position supports practice group leaders and lawyers in translating practice and individual business development plans into action, tracks progress against those plans, and helps monitor budget performance and ROI.

In addition, the role helps ensure strong market positioning by managing practice-related content for the firm’s website and capabilities materials, coordinating legal directory and award submissions, and capturing experience information in firm systems.

This position works in close collaboration with the wider Marketing and Business Development team, the firm’s Client Value team, lateral integration stakeholders, the Research team, and Practice Managers assigned to the respective practices.

Essential Functions
  • New Business Development & Growth Strategy
  • Lead the identification and pursuit of new business opportunities across the Consumer Litigation and Government Litigation practices; help coordinate outreach strategy for prospects.
  • Evaluate external conferences, referral sources, sponsor ships, and speaking opportunities to raise the market profile of the assigned practices, including coordination of submissions, speaker preparation, and post-event follow-up.
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for cross-selling within and across the assigned practice groups.
  • Support lawyers in identifying client targets, developing outreach strategies, and tracking follow-up activities tied to client development and relationship-building initiatives.
  • Prepare and coordinate pitches, proposals, RFP responses, and client presentation materials tailored to regional markets and practice priorities.
  • Lateral integration, support, and tracking for new partners in assigned practice groups
Practice & Lawyer Planning and Initiatives
  • Support practice group leaders and lawyers in developing and tracking practice group BD goals and plans.
  • Support the wider Marketing & Business Development team on cross-practice pricing and pitching opportunities.
  • Track and follow up on activities outlined in practice group and individual lawyer business development plans.
  • Regularly liaise with practice group leaders and lawyers to help identify business development opportunities and determine client development needs.
Tracking, Reporting and Performance Measurement
  • Maintain CRM, matter, experience, and pipeline data to support targeting, reporting, follow-up, and data integrity across the practice groups.
  • Prepare regular reports for the Manager, Commercial Litigation and practice group leaders on marketing and BD activity, pipeline movement, client growth, budget performance, ROI, and cross-office coordination.
  • Track outcomes and evaluate the effectiveness of business development actions.
Content, Credentials, And Experience Management
  • Prepare and manage the full cycle of directory submissions for key legal directories, awards, and rankings, including Chambers, Legal 500, and others, to enhance the market profile of the firm and the practice group.
  • Develop and maintain practice-related marketing content for the practice groups, including website updates, attorney bios, practice descriptions, and representative matters.
  • Identify and capture client experience for use in marketing and BD activities.
Collaboration and Event Support
  • Lead marketing communications for the practices, including podcasts, blog posts, client advisories, social media announcements, and other profile-raising content.
  • Plan and execute client-facing events, seminars, webinars, sponsor ships, and related follow-up activities in collaboration with the firm’s Events team, ensuring alignment with practice priorities and client development goals.
