Director, Corporate Communications

• Develop and execute a proactive media relations strategy
• Elevate GALE and its leaders through meaningful coverage in ad trades and business publications
• Own and manage GALE’s press relationships from ideation through pitching
• Partner with agency and client team leads to surface and shape stories
• Stay ahead of industry trends and inject GALE subject matter experts into the cultural conversation
• Build annual awards strategy and craft submissions across agency, creative, and people awards
• Drive thought leadership initiatives and events
• Advise across internal and external brand materials
• Strengthen internal processes and tracking/reporting
• Mentor and support junior team members across owned-channel strategy and material reviews
• Partner closely with the Vice President, Corporate Communications, and collaborative team members to drive communications strategy and execution

• 8+ years experience in communications or marketing, with meaningful time spent in media relations
• Corporate communications experience preferred
• Solid understanding of the agency/broader marketing industry
• Strong writing and communications skills
• Experience managing or mentoring others
• Highly organized with the ability to prioritize across multiple work streams
• Curious, creative, and self-driven

Demonstrates expertise in media relations and corporate communications, with a strong focus on developing proactive strategies and managing press relationships. Proven ability to mentor team members and drive thought leadership initiatives while staying attuned to industry trends.
