Overview

We're working with a specialist social-first luxury agency seeking an Account Director for its New York team.

This senior client-facing role will lead key US digital and social accounts, primarily across luxury hospitality, property and placemaking. It combines strategic leadership, account direction, team management and commercial ownership, with responsibility for building trusted client relationships and identifying opportunities for account and agency growth.

The Account Director will oversee the strategic direction and day-to-day management of their accounts, translating business and brand objectives into clear social and digital strategies, creative briefs and channel plans. They will bring a strong perspective on culture, audiences, platforms and emerging digital behaviour while maintaining a high standard of strategic thinking, service and delivery.

The role spans the full social ecosystem, including social-first creative, content production, content calendars, community management, paid media, platform strategy and performance reporting. Working closely with creative, production, strategy, PR and paid teams, the Account Director will deliver integrated campaigns and use data and audience insight to identify opportunities for optimisation.

Talent, creators and cultural partnerships are also central to the role. The Account Director will lead talent strategy across relevant accounts, identifying culturally credible partners and overseeing research, outreach, vetting, briefing, negotiation and delivery. The focus will be on developing longer-term associations that strengthen brand relevance, rather than one-off influencer activity.

The ideal candidate will have at least six years of relevant experience in an agency or in-house digital, social or brand team. They may already be operating at Account Director level or be an exceptional Senior Account Manager ready to step up. Experience across luxury hospitality, property, placemaking or a closely related lifestyle sector would be particularly valuable.

  • Oversee social strategies, content calendars, campaigns, community management and performance reporting.
  • Provide senior direction across social-first creative, content production, paid media and platform strategy.
  • Work closely with creative, production, strategy, PR and paid teams to deliver integrated campaigns.
  • Turn data, performance results and audience insight into clear recommendations and opportunities for optimisation.
  • Lead the talent and creator approach across relevant accounts, identifying partnerships that are culturally credible and strategically aligned.
  • Build relationships with US talent, creators, agents, managers, publicists and cultural partners.
  • Oversee talent research, outreach, vetting, briefing and partnership delivery.
  • Lead or oversee negotiations covering fees, deliverables, usage, exclusivity, timelines and amplification.
  • Develop longer-term talent associations that build brand relevance beyond one-off influencer activity.
  • Oversee projects from initial briefing and planning through to delivery and reporting.
  • Ensure work is delivered on time, within scope and budget, and to a consistently high standard.
  • Manage account budgets, resourcing and profitability with accuracy and commercial awareness.
  • Anticipate challenges, resolve delivery issues and communicate scope changes early.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen and grow accounts through proactive ideas and expanded scopes.
  • Lead and develop multidisciplinary account teams, providing clear direction, feedback and support.
  • Build collaborative relationships across the agency's US and UK teams.
