Overview: Publicis Media Sports & Entertainment, the sports and entertainment marketing division within Publicis Media, is searching for an Associate Director. This position requires a highly motivated and entrepreneurial-minded person to lead the day-to-day consulting and management of client relationships and management around sports and entertainment property and media partnerships. The role includes both account management, as well as prospecting new business and new lines of business opportunities.
ResponsibilitiesRole Objectives:
- Lead day-to-day project management around execution of client sports marketing partnerships across property and media channels
- Analyze and understand client business strategies and objectives, and utilize that understanding to identify, develop and deliver high-value marketing recommendations and executions
- Write and deliver sports and marketing strategies and oversee the translation of these strategies into final recommendations and implementation plans
- Provide clients with end to end strategic thought leadership across the full sports marketing landscape
- Participate in sports strategy work sessions and discussions
- Build, maintain and grow client relationships and client business
- Build, maintain and grow relationships with rights holders and media owners and internal agency counterparts
- Command a comprehensive understanding of marketing communications which can be effectively translated into developing marketing goals, objectives, and strategies
- Motivate and manage a team in the creation, development and execution of strategies, solutions, tactics and programs
- Facilitate team building through collaborative management style, open communication and focused project management to assure that assignments are executed in a timely manner
- Maintain superior knowledge of the dynamic marketplace/client needs in order to react quickly to identify unique opportunities for revenue growth
- Demonstrate problem solving and intervention when necessary
- Play active role in major agency new business pitches
- Develop POV’s and whitepapers on sports industry developments
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum 7+ years Sports Marketing experience with a focus on sponsorship strategy, activation, and property/media management
- Proven track record in sponsorship fulfillment and activation across fully integrated campaigns
- Strong experience in media buying and/or planning with a sports emphasis
- Deep understanding of client business strategies and the ability to translate them into innovative activation plans
- Existing relationships with sports properties, rights holders, and media platforms
- Core competencies include sports property relationships and strategic consulting
- Experience working in a fast-paced agency environment with multiple stakeholders and concurrent projects
- Highly proficient in PowerPoint (for presentation development) and Excel
