Account Executive

Eleven Six PR is a NYC-based travel, hospitality and lifestyle PR and social media agency. Clients include hotels, resorts, restaurants and global hospitality brands, in addition to tour operators, spas and wellness entities, travel services, non-profit organizations, chefs and entrepreneurs.

We are seeking an Account Executive to join our growing agency. The right candidate will have a passion for travel and lifestyle, a strong knowledge of the travel/lifestyle/food/wellness media landscape, excellent writing and communication skills, and experience executing successful media relations programs.

This role is ideal for a proactive, highly organized PR professional who is ready to take greater ownership of day-to-day account work while continuing to develop their media relationships, client relations and strategic PR skills. The Account Executive will work closely with senior account leads while helping oversee and support Account Coordinators and interns.

Qualifications:

• 1-3 years of public relations experience, preferably within travel, hospitality, lifestyle, food and/or wellness
• Strong media relations experience with demonstrated ability to proactively and reactively pitch and secure meaningful coverage
• Existing media contacts and ability to continually identify and build relationships with new journalists, editors and influencers
• Excellent writing and editing skills with strong attention to grammar, spelling and punctuation
• Strong knowledge of the travel, lifestyle, food and wellness media and influencer landscapes
• Social media and influencer relations experience
• Creative ideation, brainstorming and trendspotting skills
• Strong communication, organization and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Self-motivated, proactive and comfortable working in a fast-paced agency environment
• Professional and confident when communicating with clients, media, influencers and industry partners
• Experience with tools including Microsoft Office, Google Drive, Canva, Pod Pitch, AI platforms, Cision, Muck Rack, PR Newswire and related PR/social media platforms

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Support the day-to-day organization and execution of assigned client accounts
• Execute proactive and reactive media relations, including developing story angles, drafting pitches, pitching media and following up on opportunities
• Monitor daily media lead requests and identify relevant opportunities for clients
• Liaise directly with journalists, editors and influencers on behalf of clients
• Draft and edit press materials including pitches, media alerts, press releases, bios, fact sheets, backgrounders and media appointments
• Support ongoing brainstorming and trendspotting to identify timely and creative opportunities for clients
• Assist with the planning and fulfillment of press trips, desksides, media appointments and other media experiences
• Participate in client meetings and conference calls, including preparation, contribution, note-taking and follow-up
• Maintain regular day-to-day client communication via email and phone under the direction of senior account leads
• Support influencer relations and digital initiatives as needed
• Research and identify relevant industry awards and assist with award submissions
• Support client events, industry events and media-facing activations
• Contribute to new business efforts including research, brainstorming, creative ideation and proposal development
• Stay current on relevant magazines, newspapers, digital publications, newsletters, blogs, television, social media and broader cultural/media trends
