Performance Marketing Intern

Want to learn how a subscription app really grows? Babbel is looking for a Performance Marketing Intern to join our New York City team. You’ll help run paid ad campaigns, see what’s working, and help decide what we test next. You’ll work alongside experienced marketers and get hands‑on with the tools and numbers behind paid growth. This is a great start for someone who is looking for a career in marketing!

Performance marketing means paid ads where we can measure the results, so we know exactly what each ad brings in. You'll join the team that runs these ads for Babbel across search, app, social, and display. You'll see a campaign from the first idea to launch to results, and learn how we decide what to keep, change, or stop. Which channels you focus on may shift based on what the team needs.

Start Date: October (or earlier)
Internship Duration: 6 months

• Help run paid ad campaigns across search, app, social, and display: get them set up, check everything is working, and keep an eye on budgets
• Build regular performance reports and track the numbers that matter, like spend, installs, subscriptions, and the cost of winning each new subscriber
• Dig into the data to spot what’s working and what isn’t, then suggest what to try next
• Study our ads and our competitors’ ads to find the hooks, messages, and formats that get people to sign up
• Help run tests on ad copy, creative, landing pages, and audiences, and write up what we learned
• Work with teams across Creative, Analytics, Product, and Martech

• Hands‑on experience running paid campaigns at a real subscription business
• Practical training in the core skills of performance marketing: testing, reading data, and improving results
• Mentorship from experienced marketers on the team
• Work you can talk about in future interviews, and a stronger resume

• You’re curious about how paid marketing works, whether that’s performance marketing, digital ads, user acquisition, growth, or media
• Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a college or university program. Marketing, business, or data‑related majors are a plus.
• You like numbers and feel comfortable in Excel or Google Sheets
• You’re organized and can juggle a few things at once
• You communicate clearly, in writing and in conversation
• Bonus, but not required: experience with ad platforms, analytics tools, or subscription businesses

Compensation: $18.00 per hour

This position is located in NYC and requires a minimum of 3 days/week in office.
