Position Summary

The Assistant Director, Engagement Marketing is a creative, data-driven strategist and multidisciplinary communicator who serves as the vital connection between campaign strategy and execution across the prospective student lifecycle. Advance the overarching goals of the Division of Enrollment Management and Institutional Research and the University by overseeing mid-funnel marketing efforts that drive student conversion. Acting as a multidisciplinary engagement lead, turn complex audience segmentation and messaging strategy into compelling student touchpoints for NYU’s global recruitment efforts.

Lead lifecycle marketing initiatives from inception to delivery, continuously refining content to strengthen prospective and admitted student engagement across degree-granting campuses and pipeline programs. Serve as the strategic through line from specialized execution to broader strategy, and orchestrate and optimize multi-channel communications—spanning targeted email campaigns, high-impact print materials, and dynamic virtual and experiential marketing events.

Bachelor's Degree

Master's Degree

Required Experience:

2+ years of experience in a marketing or communications context. Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of educational attainment and work experience.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of and appreciation for data-driven marketing methodology. Acute attention to accuracy and detail. Ability to multitask and advance multiple, high-priority projects simultaneously. Strong ability to navigate relationships across a multitude of departments and units spanning organizational and divisional lines. Passion for advancing higher education in a global context. Ability to assimilate and synthesize complex information into clear, concise, and consistent messaging.

Excellent writing ability and creative design skills in Adobe Create Suite.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Familiarity with email marketing software/CRMs

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $77,000.00 to USD $88,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
