Account Coordinator - Brand

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

• Serve as liaison between clients, vendors, and agency departments to coordinate efficient and timely processing of materials
• Schedule and coordinate client meetings; keep participants advised of changes; develop meeting agendas and recaps
• Proofread internal and client documents for accuracy and quality
• Interact with clients as directed by the account team leader
• Conduct media monitoring and analysis; prepare reports for client distribution
• Develop and maintain media contact lists and databases, updating regularly and mining for new contacts
• Scan publications to identify and flag client-relevant media coverage and contacts, including competitive market and industry information; clip and track placements as necessary
• Begin building relationships with journalists and influencers; develop pitches and secure media coverage
• Draft news releases, pitch letters; conduct background research and prepare briefing documents for client interviews and media opportunities
• Participate in logistical operations of special events planning and coordination
• Coordinate and distribute media materials for clients
• Monitor social channels and assist in developing campaign content
• Perform ad hoc account management tasks as assigned

The company is looking for candidates with:

• Summer internship experience in a public relations agency or communications department in a relevant industry
• Bachelor’s degree in public relations, a related field, or liberal arts
• Superior oral and written communication skills; proofreading and editing ability
• Entry-level understanding of media writing and media relations, including pitching and writing releases
• Passion or experience with consumer lifestyle brands is a plus
• Professional, client-ready demeanor with high standards of etiquette in communications and interactions
• Understanding of and affinity for digital tools and platforms, including social media
• Strong time management skills
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, Cision, Moreover, Factiva, TV Eyes, or other monitoring tools
• Ability to travel as necessary based on client and business needs
• Avid consumer of business and consumer lifestyle news and media
• Thorough understanding of clients’ businesses and industries; ability to become an expert on clients’ products and services and demonstrate these to media
• Strategic, creative, and proactive thinking with problem-solving skills and close attention to detail
