Temporary Manager, 1115 Medicaid Waiver Initiative
Location: New York, NY (hybrid, regular travel across NYC boroughs)
Schedule: Full-time
Duration: Through April 30, 2026
Our client, a major nonprofit organization focused on health equity and community impact, is seeking an experienced professional to support their Medicaid 1115 Waiver capacity‑building initiative. This role will provide strategic guidance, training, and technical assistance to community‑based organizations (CBOs) as they strengthen their ability to screen Medicaid recipients and connect them to essential services. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience with Medicaid 1115 frameworks, CBO engagement, and technical assistance delivery.
Responsibilities- Conduct assessments and create tailored capacity‑building plans for CBO partners
- Deliver trainings, 1:1 coaching, tools, and culturally relevant instructional resources
- Provide technical assistance for screening, navigation, and health‑related programs
- Support data collection, reporting, and compliance with program requirements
- Assist CBOs in securing capacity‑building resources (staffing, equipment, technology)
- Facilitate collaboration across partner organizations and peer learning opportunities
- Track progress, performance metrics, and maintain documentation
- Support stakeholder meetings and provide insights from CBO engagement
- Contribute to special projects and ongoing 1115 waiver development work
- Experience or working knowledge of Medicaid 1115 programs
- Background in capacity building, technical assistance, consulting, or CBO support
- Strong facilitation and presentation skills
- Highly organized with ability to maintain trackers and performance documentation
- Clear and confident communicator, able to navigate complex questions and issues
- Tech‑savvy with the ability to quickly learn new systems
- Strong collaboration, relationship‑building, and cross‑functional communication
- Detail‑oriented and comfortable working in a fast‑paced nonprofit environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Public Health, Nonprofit Management, or related field, plus at least 3 years of relevant experience (including 1 year in community‑based health initiatives)
