ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Under the general supervision of the Director, assist in all administrative/clerical tasks at the center.
  • Interact/greets center members and guests, supports all programming at the center and assist with home delivery meal services.
  • Answer telephones and assist with calls.
  • Recruit, supervise, and coordinate activities of volunteer workers, interns, Easter Seals workers, and vocational rehab workers.
  • Perform general duties including photocopying, faxing, mailing, and filing.
  • Collect, record, and maintain daily records of contributions, fundraising activities, and petty cash.
  • Support the Director weekly in counting DFTA Breakfast, Lunch, Fundraising money, and deposits.
  • Help coordinate special programs and events.
  • Assist with fliers, newsletters, bulletin boards, etc.
  • Conduct client registration and create new membership .
  • Assist with fundraising activities, including receipts and spreadsheets.
  • Assist with documentation and input into the program database.
  • Collect and record daily attendance and congregate meals and maintain the database.
  • Maintain a monthly recreational log.
  • Assist with and maintain all required documentation of fundraising receipts and expenses.
  • Assist with Information & Referral.
  • Oversee recreational trips.
  • Other duties as required by the Director and organization.
COMPETENCIES
  • Some knowledge of and a genuine concern for the physical, mental, and emotional needs of older persons.
  • Computer skills required, with the ability to learn database maintenance.
  • Spanish speaking skills preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Commitment to the organization's mission, vision, and values.
  • Ability to understand the concepts of institutional and structural racism and bias and their impact on underserved and underrepresented communities.
  • Commitment to supporting communities who have experienced systemic oppression and bias (e.g., people of color, LGBTQ+ people, immigrants, justice-involved persons, etc.).
EDUCATION EXPERIENCE

High School graduate or equivalent, and specialized training or skills in recreational activities or two years experience in a community, group work, or teacher environment.
