OnPoint NYC is seeking a committed, compassionate, and driven individual for a management role with our agency. The Field Services Manager will supervise the Outreach and Public Safety Specialists in Washington Heights and East Harlem. An outward facing position, the Field Services Manager will serve as the primary liaison for communicating and working with community partners/stakeholders in Washington Heights and East Harlem primarily, fostering strong partnerships in a solutions-focused and collaborative fashion.
This position is NOT office based. The position involves significant time out in the field with some office time in Washington Heights or Harlem administrative office. Services are rendered from a mobile unit
stationed in neighborhoods of high need. This individual must be comfortable driving and working from a mobile outreach unit, and in public settings during all weather conditions. At times, this position will also be responsible for providing outreach services independently. This position involves a lot of walking and/or some climbing, carrying supplies, repeated bending and picking up items from the ground.

Biweekly Rate: $2.192.31 – $2,307.69
Annual Salary: $57,000 -$60,000
Position Type: Full-Time
Hours Per Week: 35 hours a week/Monday – Friday, 830a – 430pm, with occasional evening and weekend hours.

- Coordinate and supervise all Outreach and Public Specialist (OPSS) shifts in Washington Heights/East Harlem public and private spaces by implementing a weekly outreach schedule to ensure thorough coverage of the areas with high density of drug use activity and need. Hands-on outreach and hazardous waste collection duties required.
- Conduct regular and thorough ground clean-up of discarded syringe litter and other discarded drug use paraphernalia per agency protocols.
- Manage and coordinate responses to Public Safety Hotline Calls in a timely, efficient manner and document all outcomes.
- Ensure outreach teams are properly, adequately, and safely outfitted to conduct their duties including fully stocked vehicles, cold and wet weather gear, personal protective gear for hazardous waste, proper bags for outreach, materials or equipment for documentation.
- Provide ongoing and consistent field-based observation and support to outreach staff ensuring the highest level of quality service provision, including dispensing personalized risk reduction and prevention educational messaging, conducting SSP and other safer use supply distribution, naloxone distribution and training, safer disposal equipment and training, referrals/linkage, community engagement and thorough hazardous waste clean-up.
- Oversee outreach to PWUD in Washington Heights & East Harlem for public injection diversion and actively refer them into OnPoint NYC Overdose Prevention Centers.
- Perform other related tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
- Maintain adequate records of ongoing individual monthly and group supervision.
- Ensure all outreach staff are fully trained to conduct their duties effectively and safely:
Safer Sharps Training, NYSDOHMH Needle stick Training, OD Intervention and Advanced OD
Intervention Trainings, Training of Dispensers, Blood Borne Pathogens, OSHA (10hrs), documentation training, role specific training, all required contract trainings, other trainings as
directed.
Be an OnPoint NYC Program Ambassador
- Act as the public-facing representatives for all OnPoint NYC programs and services in Washington Heights & East Harlem.
- Work closely with the Director of Community Initiatives & Low Threshold Services to foster and maintain positive partnerships with local business improvement association, community boards,
NYC Parks Department, schools, businesses owners, MTA subway representatives, elected officials, residents, and the NYPD to advocate for participants. - Share agency impact and encourage greater understanding of harm reduction…
