Who We Are
We bring travelers together in the largest hostel network in the USA, and offer local tours, experiential learning programs, and cultural events. HI USA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that reinvests surpluses into hostels and programs for greater impact.
Volunteer Outing LeaderJoin us as a volunteer outing leader and guide small groups of HI NYC visitors to free/affordable cultural events across New York City. Volunteers coordinate simple logistics, ensure a welcoming environment, and share in the exploration of NYC’s culture. Commit to two evenings a month through August.
Activities- Outdoor festivals celebrating cultural heritage
- Live music or dance performances
- Museum or gallery nights
- Community food and arts events
- Cultural neighborhood explorations
- Seasonal or holiday-themed celebrations
- Meet travelers, staff, and fellow volunteers from around the world
- Facilitate cultural exchange
- Build public speaking, language, and intercultural communication skills
- Earn HI USA membership and overnights at HI USA hostels
- Training provided and flexible schedule
- Enjoy making a difference
HI USA is a 501(c)(3) non‑profit education association. Our purpose is to "Inspire a deeper understanding of people, places, and cultures for a more tolerant world." Revenues from overnight stays and memberships are reinvested in mission delivery. HI New York is a nonprofit hospitality and education organization and the largest hostel in North America.
