Overview
The Jasper Community Builder Project strengthens Manhattan University’s ability to support at least three community projects focused on food security and educational access. The project also helps community partners build their capacity to recruit and manage volunteers so they can better meet community needs. The VISTA will work with students, faculty, and campus groups (including Campus Ministry Social Action, honors societies, and Athletics) to connect them with local partners such as The Friendly Fridge, Friends of Waldo, and Altagracia Faith and Justice Works.
Manhattan University is a Lasallian Catholic institution in the Bronx, NY, committed to civic engagement and service, with a strong focus on supporting first‑generation college students and its identity as a Hispanic‑Serving Institution.
