Health In Harmony Advancement and Engagement Manager

Health In Harmony (HIH) is seeking a driven, entrepreneurial Advancement and Engagement Manager with demonstrated success in the nonprofit sector, ideally in climate justice or Planetary Health, to lead and expand both our individual giving processes, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and strategic alignment across all revenue streams. This pivotal role requires a highly self‑directed professional who thrives in a mission‑driven environment that works closely and cross‑collaboratively with the Communications, Advocacy, and Finance teams.

Reporting to the Senior Partnerships Director, the Advancement and Engagement Manager will be responsible for designing and executing strategies that deepen donor engagement, build and steward a diverse portfolio of supporters, and drive contributions in alignment with HIH’s ambitious growth goals. This position also plays a key role in amplifying the organization’s visibility and philanthropic footprint across HIH communications channels and at global convenings and events.

Health In Harmony is a nonprofit organization working to reverse the loss of tropical rainforests to help stop global heating and nature’s collapse. Health In Harmony works alongside Indigenous Peoples, local communities, and Afro‑descendant Peoples to realize their community‑designed and‑led solutions. Currently, HIH supports 235,000 community members in protecting nearly 4 million hectares of tropical rainforests in Panama, Madagascar, Brazil, DRC, and Indonesia.

HIH is expanding globally to work alongside tropical rainforest communities and contribute to safeguarding half of the world’s remaining rainforests. Health In Harmony is expanding its proven, community‑driven rainforest protection and health systems model across Indonesia in close collaboration with the Ministry of Health and with the pioneering planetary health organization, Alam Lestat Sehari, supporting districts to strengthen primary care through a last mile health program that incorporates progressive planetary health operations, and investing directly in community solutions for planetary health.

This scale effort aligns national health priorities with climate and biodiversity goals, creating a pathway for resilient, people‑centered health and environmental outcomes nationwide. This position must be U.S. based, preferably on the East Coast. Approximately 10% travel in the U.S. annually is expected.

• Project manage department portfolios across revenue lines, including assigning and executing timelines and deliverables for key development initiatives to ensure efficient resource deployment and goal achievement.
• Lead and implement high‑performance team strategies to grow HIH’s individual giving program, focusing on mid‑ and major donor development, monthly giving, and donor‑led campaigns.
• Proactively identify and pursue innovative and scalable approaches to individual donor acquisition, cultivation, and retention.
• Bring creativity and exceptional detail‑orientation to support the team and Friends of HIH in the development and planning of local activations that increase awareness of HIH’s work and networks of potential support.
• Serve as HIH’s internal authority on individual donor behavior, trends, and best practices, translating insights into actionable strategies for donor stewardship.
• Track revenue projections against fundraising targets to ensure alignment with departmental budgets and organizational financial goals.
