About Leading Edge

Leading Edge strengthens the Jewish nonprofit field to help it better serve both the Jewish community and the broader world. We envision a thriving Jewish communal ecosystem where talented and engaged people are empowered to drive meaningful change. By mobilizing Jewish nonprofits to become organizations where great people deliver great impact, Leading Edge helps build a more vibrant, effective, and inspiring Jewish sector.

Position

Summary

The Vice President of Jewish Learning will advance a bold vision: positioning Jewish thought, values, and practice as a central lever for organizational excellence and communal transformation across the Jewish nonprofit sector. Reporting to the Chief Impact Officer, this role will serve as an architect and operator – establishing and implementing a comprehensive approach to embedding “the Jewish” into Leading Edge’s strategy – ensuring it is meaningfully expressed in our programs, conferences, field resources, research, team learning, and partnerships.

This role exists to ensure that the Jewish through line of talent and culture work is not an adjunct to strategy, but a driving force for the field mobilization Leading Edge seeks to achieve. Operating at the intersection of strategy, implementation, and field leadership, the Vice President will translate Jewish thought into concrete vision, programs, tools, and experiences that directly impact nonprofit leaders, professionals, boards, and institutions.

By integrating Jewish thought, values, and practice into the ways organizations lead, govern, develop talent, articulate their missions, assess success, and build culture, this leader will help shape a sector that is deeply rooted in its Jewish heritage, future-facing, and capable of meeting the evolving needs of Jewish communities.

Externally, this leader will serve as a field builder and public voice, equipping organizations with frameworks that enable them to lead with clarity, purpose, and integrity in complex environments. Internally, they will ensure that Leading Edge models the integration it seeks to advance—demonstrating how Jewish tradition can actively shape modern organizational life in ways that elevate impact across the community.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES Field Strategy & Jewish Integration
  • Partner with the Executive Team to articulate Leading Edge’s Jewish vision and embed Jewish framing, values, and priorities into organizational strategy and all facets of our work.
  • Create and evolve the “Leading Edge Torah”—a distinctive Jewish framing that grounds the organization’s values, language, and approach to leadership and organizational excellence for the field.
  • Steward advisory bodies and cultivate strategic relationships that inform and elevate how Leading Edge articulates, embodies, and delivers its Jewish vision.
  • Develop and steward a cohesive, mission-aligned Jewish learning strategy for Leading Edge staff to create organizational alignment and ensure integration of the Leading Edge Torah across our work.
Field Implementation:
Programs, Experiences & Resources
  • Infuse Leading Edge’s Talent & Culture Norms and Board Norms, which inform and guide the fields that Leading Edge aims to serve, with deeper Jewish grounding—strengthening their resonance, integrity, and practical relevance.
  • Design, pilot and scale programs, learning experiences, convenings, and resources that equip nonprofit professionals and board leaders to integrate Jewish knowledge, thought, values, priorities, and tradition to real-world talent, organizational, and governance practice.
  • Ensure that Jewish content is consistently embedded across conferences, toolkits, research, communications, and cohort experiences—not as isolated learning moments, but as an integrated through line.
  • Establish mechanisms for evaluating how Jewish integration strengthens leadership effectiveness, organizational health, and community impact.
  • Collaborate with the Program…
