This is a volunteer opportunity provided by Taproot Foundation, a nonprofit creating social change through pro bono connections.
We’re looking for a finance‑savvy volunteer to help Creshendo set up foundational budgeting systems in Excel. As a new nonprofit with multiple programs, we need clear, grant‑ready budget templates and guidance on how to manage and scale them internally. You’d help us:
- Build a clean, flexible budget template with separate tabs for each program
- Create a summary page showing our full organizational budget
- Format the template in a way that aligns with grant application requirements
- Provide light mentorship to our team on how to manage and maintain the system. This is not an ongoing finance or accounting role— it’s a short‑term mentorship and systems‑building project to help us get set up for success.
Creshendo is a global nonprofit co‑creating education, economic, and storytelling programs with migrants and displaced communities. As a new organization, we need reliable systems to help us grow with confidence and clarity. Your support will help us apply for grants, engage funders, and plan our work in a way that’s grounded in real numbers — not assumptions. You’ll be helping us build trust, accountability, and sustainability from the start.
You’ll be supported directly by our Executive Director and connected with one of our board members who is a finance expert. He will help review and guide the process alongside you, and offer additional mentorship support to move the project forward. We’ll share our current program structure, early cost estimates, and grant timelines to make sure your recommendations are aligned with real needs.
You’ll never be asked to work in the dark — we’ll collaborate with you every step of the way. We’re hoping to complete this project between now and the end of the year. If you’re open to staying involved beyond that, we’d love to keep you on as an ongoing volunteer with light, flexible involvement — perhaps just a few hours per month — to continue supporting financial improvements or sharpening your own finance skills depending on your interest.
Creshendo Mission:
Creshendo’s mission is to empower displaced populations by fostering their integration and self‑reliance. Through specialized programs and support services, we equip them with the tools, knowledge, and resources to navigate new environments, advocate for their needs, and achieve their aspirations.
