The IRC’s
** Resettlement, Asylum, and Integration (RAI)
** department creates opportunities for refugees, asylum-seekers, migrants, immigrants, and other displaced individuals to survive and thrive in Europe and the United States. RAI operates in 29 U.S. cities across 17 states and 5 European countries. RAI’s
** Resource Acquisition and Management (RAM)
** department provides technical assistance to support RAI’s program delivery. RAM takes an integrated approach to the full award cycle including public and private business development (pre-award) and grants management (post-award) across RAI. The aim is to support RAI’s fundraising efforts and ensure compliant program delivery, leading to improved outcomes for our clients.
** Job Overview
** The
** Development Manager
** is a key connector between RAI programs at assigned sites, the RAM team, and private fundraising teams across External Relations (ER). By ensuring that RAI’s proposals are clearly articulated, tracked, and effectively supported through the full grant lifecycle, this role directly contributes to expanding and sustaining high-impact services for clients across RAI’s programs.
Reporting to the Director of Development, Resource Acquisition and Management (RAM), with a MiP to the Senior Executive Director, GA/FL, and collaborating closely with RAM colleagues, RAI assigned sites, RAI Technical Units, Program Services, and ER fundraising teams, this role will:
* Lead the development of RAI private funding opportunities in collaboration with RAI assigned sites (program teams, grants coordinators, finance, etc.);
* Prospect and steward a growing portfolio of private-sector donors that support RAI programs; and
* Strengthen systems and processes that enable smooth, timely delivery of donor commitments and high-quality reporting.
** Major Responsibilities:
***** 1. Pre-Award Activities (75%)
**** Lead the development of concept notes and proposals for private donors in coordination with RAI assigned sites, ER, technical advisors, and finance, prioritizing Impact @ Scale initiatives.
* Prospect for new donors within the RAI assigned sites and coordinate with ER on solicitation strategies
* Manage OTIS entries for all assigned opportunities.
* Ensure proposals reflect prioritized RAI funding needs within Impact @ Scale.
* Provide quality control for proposals in line with IRC standards and business processes in coordination with RAM Pre-award team
*** 2. Post-Award Activities (10%)
**** Serve as post-award focal point for assigned private awards within Impact @ Scale.
* Coordinate with Global Donation Operations, Program Services, and sites on revenue allocation and award notifications to RAI assigned sites.
* Ensure accurate and timely use of internal systems (e.g., OTIS) for assigned awards, including set-up and record updates.
* Process award modifications, including budget and scope changes, extensions, and amendments in coordination with RAM Post-award team.
*** 3. RAI–ER Collaboration (15%)
**** Attend quarterly meetings between ER and RAI assigned Sites.
* Support the development and refinement of processes, tools, and guidance that improve how RAI assigned sites and ER pursue, secure, and manage private-sector partnerships.
