Community Tax Preparation Volunteer (IRS VITA Program)

New Hope Alive, Inc. (NHA) is seeking dedicated volunteers to support its IRS-approved Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program. NHA is an authorized IRS VITA site serving Bronx and New York City communities (Site Identification Number: S), providing free tax preparation services to eligible individuals and families.

Volunteers will play a vital role in helping low‑to‑moderate‑income taxpayers file accurate tax returns, claim valuable tax credits, and access refunds that contribute to greater financial stability and economic well‑being. Volunteer opportunities are available for tax preparers, client intake specialists, greeters, interpreters, administrative support volunteers, and community outreach ambassadors.

No prior tax preparation experience is required for many volunteer roles. Comprehensive training, IRS certification resources, and ongoing support will be provided. Individuals with backgrounds or interests in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, customer service, community outreach, language interpretation, education, public service, or nonprofit work are encouraged to apply.
