Position Summary:
We are looking to appoint a mature, humble and wise man with experience of being a senior church minister. We are looking for someone who meets the character and lifestyle qualifications as defined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6- 9.
Christ Church is a small, Gospel-centered church that was formed 23 years ago. We are a congregation of about 70 people with many young and growing families among us. It is Anglican in creed and practice. We are not currently part of an Anglican Diocese but we are actively exploring the possibility of joining one. We highly value expositional Bible teaching.
Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus, who make disciples of Jesus, for the glory of God. (Matthew 28:18-20)
The Interim Pastor will report to the Trustees and Church Council.
The three part-time staff will report to the Interim Pastor who will provide oversight and guidance to the staff.
The ideal candidate will be available to start as soon as possible and can be our interim pastor for a 4-6 month period. The contract may be extended in 2
-month increments, if agreed upon by the Trustees, Church Council and Interim Pastor. Either party can also respectfully conclude this contract with one months’ notice.

- be an ordained minister
- be able to preach every Sunday, ideally, expositional Bible preaching
- plan the weekly Sunday services
- periodically lead the services
- lead communion / the Lord’s Supper
- conduct baptisms
- provide oversight and guidance to the 3 part-time staff:
- conduct monthly staff meetings and regular 1:1 meetings with each of the 3 part-time staff members and facilities coordinator
- oversee the community groups
- provide weekly sermon follow-up questions that can be shared with, and used by community groups,
- encourage the leaders with some equipping and refresher training check-in with the leaders and provide spiritual guidance and direction
- shepherd the church during this time, providing steady and grounded pastoral care and visitation (as needed)
- engage with and provide input/guidance to the Council, especially in this season of change
offer Biblically shaped wisdom as we navigate our future identity & direction as a church and possible connection to an Anglican diocese encourage the staff in their own spiritual walk support vision casting of the Children’s ministry speak at our church retreat, Long Island, October 30 & 31, 2026. This would include leading 3-4 sessions (~2 hours each) on a particular Bible passage.
candidate could:
- help provide direction and pastoral input for events like Women & Men’s Impact weekends
- be available to support ministry leaders (leaders of serving teams)
$13,350–$15,900 per month (annualized at $160,000–$190,000), commensurate with experience.
For candidates who are ordained, commissioned, or licensed ministers, a portion of compensation may be designated as a Minister’s Housing Allowance (MHA) in accordance with IRS regulations.
