About
Repair the World mobilizes Jews and their communities to take action to pursue a just world. We believe that service in support of social change is vital to a flourishing Jewish community and an inspired Jewish life. By 2030, Repair will catalyze one million acts of service towards repairing the world.
Repair is building a Jewish service movement of flourishing Jewish communities that serve in pursuit of a just world. Repair mobilizes young adults to serve in their communities, catalyzes service through deep partnerships within Jewish communal organizations, and inspires people to take action through time-bound thematic national service campaigns. Our mission provides volunteers with an increased connection to meaningful service and learning as a Jewish value, builds capacity for nonprofit partners to meet their missions, and deepens connections across lines of difference.
AboutRepair the World New York
Repair the World connects people to meaningful Jewish service and learning, deepening their connection to Jewish community and bridging divides. Through service, we bring people together across lines of difference and alongside local nonprofit partners working to meet pressing needs.
Repair the World New York launched in 2015 and now engages 5,000 participants annually through 75+ service and Jewish organizational partners. Our programs include Service Corps, the Ambassadors program and ongoing volunteering for teens, young adults and families. Repair’s Service Corps mobilizes young adults (ages 18-29) through part-time, time-bound service with local partners, paired with Jewish learning and peer community. For many, the Service Corps provides an entry point into Jewish life for those who may not be traditionally engaged with the broader Jewish community.
