Volunteer Opportunity
This is a volunteer opportunity provided by Taproot Foundation, a nonprofit creating social change through pro bono connections.
About CreshendoCreshendo is an early stage nonprofit working with migrant and refugee communities across integration, storytelling, and economic mobility. We are building systems that are shaped by the communities we serve, not assumptions made from the outside. Creshendo’s mission is to empower displaced populations by fostering their integration and self‑reliance. Through specialized programs and support services, we equip them with the tools, knowledge, and resources to navigate new environments, advocate for their needs, and achieve their aspirations.
Role OverviewWe are seeking a strategic research and program design advisor to help us build the foundation for our Research and Analysis function. Over a 6 to 8‑week project, the volunteer will work with Creshendo’s Executive Director and key team leads to provide practical, evidence‑based guidance that informs program design, partnerships, and public thought leadership.
Key Responsibilities- Research examples of co‑creation in refugee, migrant, or community‑based programs
- Identify what makes these models effective, ethical, and scalable
- Recommend how Creshendo can apply co‑creation across our programs and internal operations
- Help clarify the structure of our Research and Analysis team
- Define the role of a future team lead or manager
- Recommend workflows for research, insights, editorial planning, and publishing
- Help us think through how research should inform program design, partnerships, and public thought leadership
The goal is not a long academic report. We need a clear, practical framework that helps our startup nonprofit make better decisions and build with more intention. This project will help us build a research function that strengthens our programs, informs our partnerships, and turns what we are learning into public insights. Your work will help us move from scattered knowledge to a clear system for learning, improving, and sharing what works.
TeamCulture
We are a fast moving, volunteer‑led team, so we value clarity, practicality, and direct communication. We are looking for someone who can bring both rigor and imagination, see patterns, ask sharp questions, and help turn complexity into a usable system.
