In-Person Literacy Volunteers Needed for Summer 2026!
READ 718 is looking for volunteer literacy tutors for our program during our Summer Cycle (
July 6 to August 13
). Volunteers must attend an orientation session and one training session, both in-person at either location. They must also undergo a background check.
READ 718 is a non-profit literacy center that provides tutoring and literacy workshops to low-income students in grades 3-8. We are looking for dedicated, reliable, caring, positive people who are committed to working with a child virtually twice a week for 6
weeks (July 6 to August 13) via Zoom. Tutors will be provided with easy-to-follow lesson plans for each session, and will have access to reading specialists and literacy educators for questions and guidance.
READ 718 aims to provide students with high-quality, supplementary instruction to bridge the gap between students who are struggling and their grade-level peers. This program offers students the opportunity to practice fundamental reading skills, promote engagement in reading, and prevent “summer slide.”
