What We Can Achieve Together

The Associate Director of Development III (ADoD) for New York develops, implements, and manages effective multi-year strategies and plans for the cultivation of prospects and the solicitation of gifts, primarily from individual donors and may include some corporations and foundations. The ADoD will be joining a high performing team, raising $45 million+ annually as part of the One Future:
Together We Find A Way Campaign with the goal of raising $500 million+ from the NY Global Market.

The ADoD will work with development, conservation and executive leaders to help fulfill the New York Division’s ambitious revenue goals. This position will also collaborate with team members to coordinate gifts for work beyond New York (across North America and in 80+ countries around the world) as opportunities arise.

The ADoD reports to the NY Director of Development (DoD) and collaborates closely with the DoD and with the NY Executive Director, both of whom are based in the New York City office. The ADoD will be part of the Development leadership team for NY and will be instrumental in elevating the fundraising and relationships across Long Island.

The ADoD must live in Suffolk or Nassau counties on Long Island.

The portfolio managed by the ADoD will require sophisticated relationship management, a high degree of understanding of non‑cash assets, and an expertise in the factors influencing philanthropic giving. The position will focus on long‑range strategic priorities and be responsible for donor strategy and proposal development, working with conservation, finance, and development staff, as well as donors, to create transformational giving opportunities.
