Manager, Internal Communications

On April 21, 2026, The Jed Foundation (JED) announced its intent to merge with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) to form AFSP/JED, the nation's largest nonprofit dedicated to suicide prevention across the lifespan.

This combination brings together two organizations with deep expertise and a shared commitment to protecting emotional health at every stage of life.

The Manager, Internal Communications will play a key role in shaping how staff, volunteers, and chapter leaders experience this transition and the unified organization that follows.

Reporting to the SVP, Marketing Communications, this person designs and executes internal communications that keep the combined organization informed, engaged, and connected to the mission, both during integration and as AFSP/JED grows.

The Manager translates organizational priorities, decisions, and milestones into clear, accessible messaging across all-staff meetings, Slack, email, newsletters, the intranet, and chapter communications.

The role blends strategic counsel on sensitive and high-impact communications with hands‑on content development, channel management, and measurement.

This role is ideal for a strong communicator who thrives in fast‑moving, mission‑driven environments and can help ensure staff are informed and connected to the organization’s work and priorities.
