Position Summary

Legal Services NYC (LSNYC) seeks a detail‑oriented, proactive, and highly organized Development Manager to support the revenue‑generating efforts of the Central Development Office and coordinate closely with LSNYC’s five borough programs. This role supports fundraising operations, donor engagement, data management, and event execution, while ensuring seamless communication between the central team and Project Directors across borough offices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day‑to‑day support to the CDO, Development Officer, and Senior Grants Writer.
  • Draft, edit, and proofread donor-facing materials (acknowledgments, stewardship letters, proposals, reports).
  • Support annual giving, donor stewardship, revenue campaigns, and board engagement.
  • Maintain internal fundraising timelines and follow-up systems.
Cross‑Borough Coordination and Borough Event Support
  • Act as liaison between Central Development and Project Directors in all five borough offices.
  • Support borough events and community fundraisers, ensuring alignment with LSNYC’s fundraising and communications strategy.
  • Collect program updates and data needed for grants, impact materials, and donor communications.
Database & Administrative Management
  • Maintain accurate confidential donor/prospect data for all boroughs in CRM (Raisers Edge preferred).
  • Generate reports, queries, and dashboards as needed.
  • Process gifts and oversee acknowledgment workflows.
  • Manage team scheduling, development calendars, and meeting prep.
Event Support
  • Assist in planning and executing LSNYC’s central fundraising events, including the annual Jazz for Justice gala and Fun Run.
  • Coordinate logistics, registration lists, volunteer management, sponsorship tracking, and communications.
  • Provide planning and execution support for borough-level events.
Communications & Donor Stewardship
  • Support creation of newsletters, email campaigns, presentations, and fundraising materials.
  • Assist with social media or website updates related to development initiatives.
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 1–3 years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, events, or program coordination.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint (or Google Sheets/Slides). Ability to create charts, analyze data, manage spreadsheets, and build clean presentations.
